An incomplete idle game about a spaceship trying to reach a far away star with a broken engine.

When you run out of things to upgrade, the game is over as I never developed more of it.

This was mostly aimed as a test of Godot 4 and Idle game mechanics.

nice game.

one tip with idle games:

if prizes jump up a lot between upgrades, then basically there are usually only 1 or 2 upgrade that are still cheap and the rest is super high above.

so at that moment there isnt really a choice. you have to take the cheapest upgrade for max progress.

so upgrading to max in 100 steps leaves more choice for the player than if the max is reached in 10 steps. let alone 3 steps, for maxing an upgrade. that makes it so there really isnt a choice. you just take the cheapest.

the more steps , the more unbalanced a player can be and so have their 'own build'

good luck. nice one

do electronics not do anything?

Wow you reached far into the game already, thanks a lot!
And no, the electronics do nothing, that's the end of the prototype. I never continued the tech tree further.

shame you should continue this project then cus its a very fun idle game

Great game, love the graphics

Edit: I do not remember the 10gm/s quest taking this long

Notes for creator, SPOILERS:

on the "enter warp speed" it says  enter wrap speed, and in all "search for (x material)" upgrades it says search for *carbon* asteroids instead of whatever material it was probably meant to be

Thanks so much for playing!

I am not sure I understand the first part on the sentence about wrap speed but the carbon description issue is fixed now.

the upgrade says warp speed but the description says wrap speed

Oh my! I had to read it 50 times to finally see it xD

I'll blame my dylexia. waRp vs wRap. Thanks, I'll fix that tomorrow

All good dude, just wanted to tell you the errors I noticed so you could fix them for future players

Game breaking bug: When you research the water-to-something refinery upgrade and the progress bar was nearly full, then the progress bar becomes full and will not reset, no matter what, which means that refinery module is broken from that point.

Thanks so much for playing!

If you can, I would love to see a screenshot of your game. (You progress is saved in automatically even if you played in the browser)

I suspect you didn't have enough water to complete the transformation to hydrogen and the game doesn't warn you about that.

I guess the game did not save for me. When I start it, I only have the "New Game" and "Quit" options on the start screen.

I'm on Firefox, Win10.

Too bad, thanks for the response.
Godot store savegame in the cookie, this must be disable by default on firefox :(

Other games save with no problem, including Godot games. I don't know what the issue is, but I believe you can solve it.

I'll try :D
I have a few ideas to investigate

Pressing space makes things go really fast, maybe you forgot some debug settings on

Oups :D

I had no idea anyone would play this prototype game :D Thank you so much. I de-activated the debug settings now.

The 1000 km/s mission seems to be set to 1000 Mm/s with no exponential improvements in sight; the next one seems to have expected a warp jump at the 1 Mm/s mark.

Thank you so much for playing! That bug is fixed now.
